Sinopsis: 
El nacimiento del futuro príncipe de Gales coincide con un periodo de problemas personales y políticos creados a la joven y temperamental reina Victoria. Las relaciones de ésta con su madre no son buenas, y con su marido el príncipe Alberto sostiene fuertes disputas, a causa de la devoción que siente por la baronesa Lezhan; así el príncipe se siente frustrado al negársele cualquier formar nuevo Gobierno, nombrando a sir Robert Peel primer ministro, debido a las estrechas relaciones que éste sostiene con el actual premier Lord Melbourne.
